Greetings all,
Christine is moving out of the House of Lesbian. This has nothing to do with the representation of lesbians in the household. In fact, I've always rather enjoyed that part. The decision to move is based on a) wanting to be closer to uni, and b) needing to move away from a negative place that smells a bit strange.
I'm looking to join or start up a sharehouse (no I'm not - I'd actually prefer to start up my own little bachelor pad but who knew you needed money for these things...). If you're interested or know anyone who is they will need to take the following into account:
1. I am a 21 yr old Arts student in her final year but will probably be picking up another degree. Sometimes I have a job, sometimes I don't, depending on the time I devote to studies and external responsibilities. I am, however, fantastic with money and have some decent savings so I always pay my rent.
2. I am a lesbian/SOMETHING so anyone willing to live with me must be comfortable and somewhat tolerant of this fact.
3. I am clean, considerate and relatively quiet.
4. I am very much the cat/pet type. I don't currently own a pet but at some point I will be bringing an animal into the house and calling it ridiculous names like Augustus Snodgrass (Dickens).
5. I have general household-y things such as: BIG refrigerator, microwave, kettle, toaster, rice cooker, cutlery, dinnerwares, two bookcases (MANY BOOKS), two desks, an average television, MANY GAMING CONSOLES, not enough games. And some other stuff. But I'll be buying more because there's some things I simply don't own out of them being provided with this house.
6. I cannot cook but I do try very, very hard. I've noticed this doesn't really change things.
7. I am quite poor (and as a result a little bit stingy) so I probably won't be able to manage a large amount of rent per month. The place I'm at now costs me $420 a month, and that's only just gone up from $390 a month in the past six months. This price has been awesome but I'm not expecting to see it again. At most I could afford close-ish to $500 a month. Maybe more if I can hold down a job consistently.
8. Oh, and most importantly I'd like to be close to Monash and within short distance of public transport.
Sound good?
Bear in mind that as of the posting of this entry I am on holiday until next week so I won't be able to respond to your expressions of interest or questions immediately. Leave them here and I will answer them when I return. Alternatively, if you are definitely interested then you are welcome to leave me a message either through LJ, Facebook or whatever means you know how.
And yeah, that's about it. Also, hi everyone. Has anyone else realise how much croissants rock? Cream cheese, salmon...
